Beech Propane Buyer's Co-op
At the May 11th Town Council meeting, Lee Wittmann, a nine year resident of Beech Mountain, addressed the council. His concern was propane and the wildly fluctuating costs associated with Beech Mountain delivery. Lee is hoping local residents will join forces and form a buyer's cooperative for propane. The co-op would solicit bids from several High Country suppliers
and leverage the power of bulk ordering. Currently, Lee is asking interested residents to contact him and provide data to complete an audit of past propane usage and agreements.
Any interested party can e-mail their propane history to lwittmann@skybest.com. The deadline is June 1 2010 for the audit. Please include the following information:
Number of Gallons used last season
Last price paid per gallon last season
Size of tank in gallons
Type of tank (in-ground or above-ground)
Is tank owned or rented
Current Propane provider
